The New Year Cabals

Hi everybody

Today I going to talk about new year. The new year it's really close so I want to dedicate this blog to my experiences with the cabals in new year. I came from a family that have many traditions for the new year. Since I was a little kid my mom and my aunts made different cabals for call to the good things in the new year. So here is a list with some of they.

1- Eat a spoon full of lentils. You have to it lentils just cooked without dressing. My aunts always make me eat this. It's so disgusting, but they believe that if you eat lentils you never lack anything.

2- Dress a yellow under wear. Since I'm a little kid my aunts always make me use a yellow underwear that they give to me. This cabal i'ts for you have energy during the all year.

3- Put some piece of gold (rings of something like that) in a glass of champagne. My aunts say that this is for have money in the all year.

4- The first gretting have to be for the someone of the opposite sex. My aunts wil never forget me getting they before a man do that. The believe that it's bad luck to hug to someone of the same sex.

5- Clean the house. This cabal it's for the bad things of the past year go away and could came the good things from the new year.

6- One of the most I like it's take a shower on the sea. It's for the bad energy go away from your body.

I don´t believe in all this, but in some way this are part of my family and I have affection for they.
I hope this year we are all together with my family and could do this cabals again.

Last Blog of the semester

Hi everybody

I start my English courses in the level two. Since the first class I learn so much about English. I thing that the most important thing that i learn in English was daring to talk. It was really difficult to me because I'm kind of shy and I believe that speaking it's one thing that don't use to teach at the school. My teachers (Belén, Álvaro y Neha) have been really good teacher. One of the thing that I consider important for a teacher it's that can make a pleasant place where the student can performance comfortably and I think that they did it.

I thing that for make better and more successful the classes, English school should change the schedules because, for example, this semester we over the classes at 7:30 pm and we are really tired. In my opinion the willingness of the students will be better if we are more rest. 

Nowadays the english it's increased used in my classes. This semester I had to read a lot of papers in english, I believe that the courses of english are really handy for the student. Also I believe that english it's really important for the life. You never know if some day you will need it.

Personally I love the languages and I would like learn many more. It's a way to know other cultures and It's impressive how the human being has been able to make different ways to communicate. 

I'm really happy for all what I learn in english and I hope that take other courses of language be so easy like take English.

Am I green?

Hi everybody!

Today I going to talk about how green I am. I have to confess that I`m not too green. I think that I would like to be greener. The first time that I heart about nature care was when I was in primary school. I was about 10 years old and a green organization was to give us a talk and show us some videos. I have to say that I remember this experience until now. It was really important to understand how important the environment care is.

 I think that a good way to people learn about environment it`s teaching them form earliest age. First at home and second in the school. This both places are a major significance to children. 

I don`have too many recycling habits incorporated in my life, but I do a couple of things. I try to use reusable bags when I go to buy or when I want to keep o carry things. When I have to print something I try to do it for both parts of the paper. Since I little kid my mom recycle the clothes. She gives the clothes that me, she and my brothers don´t use more. 

Nowadays I use the public transport, but I`m making money to buy a bike. I thing that bikes give us too many benefits. You can make exercises while you transport and at the seam time you caring the environment. 

I have never belong to a eco-organisations. The truth it`s that I don`t have time enough to study and help in the team. But if some day are the conditions to do it, I will. 

I think that as a society we have a difficult task. I believe that people don`t know much about nature care. I hope some day this situation change and people star to care and respect their environment.

My 2014

Hi everybody!

Today I going to talk about my experiences in this year. So far my 2014 has been a wonderful year. I think that I haven`t such good year since a couple of years before. 

This have been a good year firstly because my family and friends are all fine. It`s my second year far away home, but I`m peaceful because I know that everybody are okay there. 

The past year I learn "how be a university student". So, the second thing that I like of this year it`s that I face the university calmer. I enjoy this year, even when this fourth semester it´s really difficult because I know how works the university and I know better to myself. Now I know how and when study, when I need a break or when I need a distraction. 

Third, this year I consolidated my friendship with some classmates. So, now I feel better in general. They are my support  when the things get complicate, and also they are my partners when we have time to spend together. 

Also this year I took a dance course and my finally english. I feel really pride of myself because I learn and enjoy this courses. The next year I will can take my electives relax because I have a couple of extra courses and I will not have problems with the schedules, or at least I hope that.

But the most important thing it}s that my niece was born this year. She make me and my family happier. We al are really "chochos" because of her. 

Despite the difficult things of this year, most of experiences during this period have been pretty good to me. So I`m really thankful for all the good things that I have live in this year and I hope that the next year be better.

My favorites seasons

Hi Everybody

Today I going to talk about spring and summer. This seasons are my favorite seasons  along with the summer. I love spring because the vegetation blossoms and looks really beauty. Also in this season star to appear different kind of fruits that was not in the other seasons.

In addition to what a just mention the temperature increase. There are people who loves cold weather condition, but I love the warm weather. You can go out to park, ride a bike, swim in a pool and other thinks like that. Also the day are longer because the sun goes down later.

Other good thing about the spring is that in this season the classes over and star the vacations. And in summer I´m in vacations. So in this season a can travel, visit my friends and family. I can go to the beach, go out in the night. In general have a good time and the most important think: I can Sleep. It sounds like something common, but sometimes in the semester you don´t have time to do it. So in general you can relax and take a break.

 So, these are my favorite seasons. I love them

My dream job

Hi everybody. Today I will talk about my dream job. As you know I´m studying psychology and until now I love it. I´m not sure in what area I going to specialize in, but I think that it may be health psychology or older adult. 

But in both case I would like to work in a hospital or a health center with a interdisciplinary team. This because I think that with a team you can give to the patient a complete and organized attention. I think that should be I hard work because the emotional charge. But since I start to study this career and before I wanted to work in something that really could make someone elses life better. 

I love to travel, but I will have to let the travel for the holidays because I don´t believe that this work and the travel are compatible. Sadly this is a work indoor, but It´s no too bad because I will be doing what I love to do. So probably I will have a office and all this kind of things. 

I will love studying a major related with older adult or health psychology. I hope to do it someday. 

So, those are my plans. I don´t know if someday I will do it or if I change it. But no matter what I decide, I wish it make me happy.

Valle del Elqui

Hi everybody

Today I going to talk about my favorite place in Chile. It´s kind of hurt to decide because I know just some places of this beautiful country, but I will choose of what I could visit. 

I´m from Copiapó, but this time I will trick it because my favorite place is Valle del Elqui. This Valley it´s located in Coquimbo Region. The Valley has little towns. The tree most important towns are Paihuano, Cochiguaz and Pisco Elqui. 

The first time that I visited Valle del Equi I went to Pahiuano, but my favorite town is Pisco Elqui. the first time that i went to Pisco Elqui I did it with my brother and my cousin. We camped and in the camping we meet to many people. It was a really nice trip.

I love Pisco Elqui, first, because it´s a small town and it´s really quiet and calm. The people are really friendly and welcoming. You can go out in the night to walk for the streets and you can be relax because everything are secure. 

In second place, I love Psico Elqui because it´s really beautiful and you can breath really fresh air. Pisco Elqui have a beautiful river, the Elqui river, and you can go to take a dip in that place. 

On of the things that I like the most it´s the night sky. I just love it. The sky are clean and you can see crystal clear the moon and the stars. It´s wondrous.

I´m planning to come back this year and probably I will visit that place many many times. Probably there´s too many beautiful places in Chile, but Valle del Elqui have all characteristics that I look for a place.

PD: Like a advice, I have to say that the road it´s horrible. Although It have too many bends. Just a really good driver should drive for that way.

My best holiday

Hi Everybody

Today I will talk about my favorite holidays. When I was a little kid I traveled every summer to visit my grandmother. In my grandmother´s house the whole family was met. I don´t remember exactly when this holidays was but I believe that I was five or six when we started to meet in summer. 

My grandmother lived in Huasco, a beautiful port close to Vallenar city in Atacama region. We went to beach almost every day and we walked a looooong way by the border of the beach and we jumped and ran until get to the river. In that place we use to bath. It was a beautiful place, and I say WAS because now Huasco is all contaminated. It´s really sad :C

When we tired of bath and play in the water we went out the river and my mom with my aunts gave us tea whit bread or cake. And when it began to get dark we came back to my grandmother´s place. 

This holidays were unforgettable moments with my family and specially with my grandmother that five years ago past away.   

Nowadays, when I visit Huasco I remember my childhood and the beautiful that were those days :D 

My favorite dish

Hello

Everybody

Today I will talk about my favorite food. I love some ingredients that together taste wonderful. This ingredients are mushroom, coriander, garlic and onions. So I prepared them whit noodles and cream. Are a fabulous dish. I love this dish because every ingredient have a really strong flavor and when you cook them together you have a mix of exquisite flavors. 

The first time I ate was last year, when I get to Santiago. My mom never coked whit mushroom and cream. So, one day a friend told that we prepared the lunch. An then she got the idea that cook noodles with mushroom, coriander, garlic and onions. That was the day that I falling in love with this dish and every time I can, I cook this dish.

I recommend this dish, if you have time and wanting to eat something delicious, prepare this dish because you will enjoy it. It´s simple, ship and really easy to prepare. That´s my advice and I wish everybody eat this dish and be happy eating it like me :D

The Amazing Greece

Hi everyone!

Today a going to talk about a country that I would like to visit: Greece. This country seems interesting because I think that  it´s a place full of history and mythology and I love that. And I would like to know Greece because it´s a beautiful place (or at least that appear in the movies).

Since I was little I been studying european history, therefore, I know about the history and, as you all know, the importance for the western society. From Greece come from important philosophers as Aristotle and Socrates.Greece it´s really important of its economy, art, politics and many many others.

My dream is to visit the Parthenon and, in general, the Greece architecture. Also I would like to know the beaches and the field. In this manner I could mix the history and the beauty of Greece.

Although I think that Greece it´s a nice place I don´t change Chile for any other country. That´s the reason that I would like just to visit Greece, and also others countries.

Anyway, I hope to visit Greece some day.

Studying in the grass

Hi everybody!

I think that this semester has been a good semester so far and I hope that it continue like that. One of my best memory about this semester was a day that I studied in the grass. OK, you can say "Boring, you were studding". Yes, but was nice because I was really stress and I think that talk with my friends while I was studding helped me. We had too many test and task to do and also we were really tired. So we decided to go to the grass to study because none wanted to go to the library. In the grass I felt more relax and I could be more concentrate.

That day I learn that when you feel overwhelmed because of the study is better take a breath, talk with somebody about that and try to make the study a nice thing.

That`s one of my experience in the campus :D

The end of semester

 Hi Everybody!

Today I´m going to talk about the end of the semester. Yes, for almost everyone it is a really unpleasant topic, but end of semester it´s getting closer and we have to face it.

So, as we all know the ends of the semester in general are chaotic. We have many assessments and task in few weeks. In a couple of weeks we could pass or reprove our courses, so the pressure it´s too much. In addition it´s very cold and the days are shorter (that´s really personal because I don´t like winter, but there´re people that like that).

But I think that no every thing is horrible about end of the semester, here are some good things about it:

• You have a couple of weeks just dedicate to study and  all that stuffs, but after all you will can enjoy the holidays.
• You have the opportunity to get better marks.
• You have a reason to celebrate, your last test.
• You’re close to the next semester, a new opportunity to learn  new things.
• (And for me) Other step close to the summer :D

That´s are my vision for this end of semester, I wish that your end of semester be kind of relax and no too claimant.

Winter is coming!

Hi everybody

Today I´m going to talk about the winter. First, I have to say that I don´t really like the winter. As you know I´m from the north of the country and it is very hot. So I really love spring and summer, these are my favorite sesons of the year. But now is winter and I will try to emphasize the best of the winter.
The first thing that I like from the winter is that you can eat dried fruit because I love it, are just delicious. Other thing that I like from the winter is stay in bed all day when it´s cold and do anything.  

Sometimes it´s nice see outside for the window when it´s raining. I like toe at all chocolate in the word when it´s cold, maybe it isn´t a winter´s advantage but it is something that I do.


And the last rthing that i like from the Winter it´s Winter´s holiday :D Because I can go home and be with my family and friends. And also because be in Copiapo in Winter it´s lest colder tan be in Santiago.

There no many nice things tos ay about Winter but it´s always nice try to find the good thing from the things that we don´t like that much.

Hi everybody

Today I want to share with you a picture that was taken to me and my mom when I was almost two years old. My family recently moved from Vallenar to Copiapó. We were strolling along Copiapó when we passed for Copiapó`s central main square. My mom and me were going to buy a ice cream in that place when a photographer offered my mom to take a picture. My mom told me that she tried to explain me that we going to take a picture and after that we going to buy a ice cream because is obvious that a child get really dirty eating a ice cream. I suppose that I did n`t understand and I get angry. I think that if I was eat a ice cream first in this picture would appear a little girl with a dirty dress but smiling :D

Although I`m not to happy in this picture it`s one of my favorite pictures because my mother looks beautiful and is a pretty memory about my child.

Be a HUMO girl!

Hi everyone!

This week i´m going to talk about what it means to me be a HUMO girl. Likely you are wondering what means that. Well, this means Hogar Universitario Mario Ojeda, the University of Chile´s  residence. 

I live in MO since March last year. In that moment, I was new in the city and in the university and those were hurt times of changeover. At the start I was really shy. But I began to met the girls and they were my big support. At first it´s rare live with so many girls, but live in community taught me many things like the collaboration and the cooperation between all of HUMO girls. I been living in MO for over a year and I consider some girls my sisters. 

In MO, the things are not perfect, but I´m really happy to live in. We are like a big family and I love them. I met such a beautiful people in MO. I know they will be my friends for ever and that´s why I´m sharing my experience with you.

My favorite technological object

Hi everybody!

This week i'm going to talk about technology. My favorite technological object is my notebook. Before to come to Santiago ( the last year in march) my brother and my sister gave me a notebook. I am not a fan of technology, but my notebook is essential for the university. I use it for make my homework and university assignments. In summer I don't use it often, but in university period I use it every day. I like my notebook because it is an assessment tool and also I can see videos and movies chating with my family and friends and many others things. 

The last week my notebook was stolen. It was really sad because I was carefree and neglected because I haven't a information back-up. It was a big mistake but you never expect that somebody steal your notebook. So, I know what it fells like be without my notebook and it is really sad :c

 Even though I don't have my notebook, it will continue to be my favorite technological object.

My expectations for this semester

We are clouse to first month of class and I'm going to talk about my expectations for this semester. 

This semester I have seven courses: Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Estadistic II, Neurophysiology, Psychopathology and, Psychological's Theory and Sistems. Also I have the english course level tree. 

I hope that I will can sign up in a course of dancing, yoga, or something like that. But, at least tihis semester, I I couldn't take any extracurricular course because of my class schedule.

Out of university I don't have an specific activity for practice constantly, however, when I have free time I like go to running, I like dancing or do some activity in natural areas. Also when I can I really like travel to Copiapó and spend time with my family.

For this academic period I hop could learn and enjoy about psychology. This are my expectations for this semester.

My very first post

Hi every one :D I`m Javiera Gutiérrez and this is my first post.

I was born in May 24th, 1994 in Vallenar. This city is located in the north of Chile, specifically in the Third Region of Atacama. From a was born until I was one and a half year old I lived in Huasco. This harbour is 65 km away Vallenar. It`s such a beautifull place. Then my family travel to Copiapó and from that day until the last year I was living there with my mom, my sister and my brother.

In Copiapó I studied in Copiapó`s technological high school and I graduated in 2012. When I graduated I travelled to Santiago and now I`m living here. This is because now I`m studing psychology in the University of Chile, located in Santiago.

Since I entered in the university i don`t really have much time to practice a hobbie, but in my few free time I like to dance and cycling. That makes my very happy :D
